VINTAGE
Bailey Vineyard is located at Winddance Farms in nearby Volcano. In 2016 the fruit was subject to another year of hot drought conditions leading to concentrated fruit. However, due to weather conditions and an earlier harvest than normal, higher acids prevail allowing this wine ample aging potential.
VINEYARD
The Bailey Vineyard sits at an elevation of 3000 feet above the historic town of Volcano in the heart of Amador County. This vineyard produces a stereotypical Sierra Foothills Syrah – excellent fruit structure paired with soil minerality. Planted in 2000, this
10-acre vineyard lies atop a hillside facing southwest enjoying excellent full day sun exposure and gentle breezes.
TASTE
Aromas of blueberries, pie crust, and baking spices greet the nose. Flavors of blueberries and vanilla are balanced against soft, velvety tannins with ample acid and oak for aging. Enjoy!
