Bailey Vineyard is located at Winddance Farms in nearby Volcano. In 2015 the fruit was subject to another year of hot, drought conditions leading to concentrated fruit However, due to weather conditions and an earlier harvest than normal, higher acids prevail allowing this wine ample ageing potential.
The Bailey Vineyard sits at an elevation of 3000 feet above the historic town of Volcano in the heart of Amador County. This vineyard produces a stereotypical Sierra Foothills Syrah – excellent fruit structure paired with soil minerality. Planted in 2000, this 10-acre vineyard lies atop a hillside facing southwest enjoying excellent full day sun exposure and gentle breezes.
Aromas of currants, tobacco, and cigar box greet the nose. Flavors of blueberries, vanilla, and pie crust combine with fine tannins and a healthy oak backbone. Enjoy!
